Oasis of the Seas, the world’s largest cruise liner has been launched on November 20. Oasis of the Seas is expected to be ready for operation to the Royal Caribbean International in end 2009. The vessel is under construction at STX Europe’s (erstwhile Aker Yards) Turku shipyard, Finland and 65 percent work is already completed.
Some of the interesting features of Oasis of the Seas (yard no 1363) to justify the vessel as the world’s largest cruise liner are:

Oct 31, 2009 Cali Today News - Nó lớn gấp 5 lần chiếc tàu Titanic huyền thoại, có cả sân chơi trợt tuyết, sân golf, 7 tầng và một rạp hát lộ thiên với 750 ghế. Đó là chiếc du thuyền lớn nhất thế giới. Thứ sáu 30/10 nó lên đường về bến đậu ở Florida.
Chiều cao của nó là bằng tòa nhà 20 tầng, trị giá tới 1.5 tỉ đô la. Nó sẽ về đến Hoa Kỳ với “một rừng chỉ trích”: thời buổi kinh tế khó khăn mà người ta vẫn đóng những chiếc tàu siêu sang và siêu lớn!
Nó tên là “Oasis of the Seas”và cao đến nỗi khi nó ra biển Baltic, nó phải “nín thở” khi qua cầu Great Belt Bridge, vì cây cầu chỉ cao hơn chiếc tàu đúng 1 foot mà thôi.
Chiếc ‘Oasis of the Seas’ lớn cho đến nỗi nó còn to hơn tới 40% chiếc du thuyền lớn nhất thế giới hiện nay. Nó đã được “thai nghén” nhiều năm trước khi khủng hoảng kinh tế xảy ra.
Nó có 2,700 cabins, có thể chở tới 6,300 hành khách và 2,100 nhân viên trong thủy thủ đoàn. Nó lớn đến nỗi các bong tàu có những chủ đề khác nhau, trong đó có 1 bong là “khu nhiệt đới” với nhiều cây kèo. Tổng cộng có 12,000 cây gồm nhiều loại được trồng trên tàu.
Ngoài rạp hát lộ thiên, tàu còn rạp hát bên trong với 1,200 chỗ ngồi và nhiều hồ bơi, có hồ có đà ván để phóng xuống cao tới 33 feet.
So với cái giá từ 509 đô la tới 1,299 đô la trên chiếc “Freedom of the Seas”, giá của chiếc Oasis of the Seas cao hơn nhiều, từ 1,299 đô la đến 4,829 đô la.
Chuyến đi đầu tiên của “quái vật trùng dương” này được ấn định là ngày 20 tháng 11, khởi hành từ Port Everglades ở Florida.
